BATTLE OF LITTLE BIG HORN- MONTANA! the souis was a powerful native american tribe- after battles in the past with the americans they agreed to live in the Black Hills of South Dakota: - several years after this agreement/treaty gold was found in the hills: the US sent George Custer to remove the native americans- believed he was invincible & attacked the native american warriors (2,000 sioux warriors; largest force every gathered by NA on the plains Custer attacked 200 w/ his force "custers last stand" - custer & all his men were destroy & became known as.. THIS BATTLE HAD A HUGE INFLUX OF AMERICAN SOLDIERS TO ROAM THE PLAINS, KILLING NATIVE AMERICANS AND FORCING THEM ONTO RESERVATIONS! |
