Flashcard Machine was created by Madhu Lundquist while pursuing his BFA in Multimedia Design at the University of Oregon. After discovering that all of the images for his art history class were available on a class web page, he started creating web-based flashcards. As he began building this application he realized the value in creating a set just once that he could then share with his classmates. Flashcard Machine was born. This was back in 2000. Today, Flashcard Machine is a growing community of hundreds of thousands of students, teachers and professionals around the world with a shared goal in mind, to succeed at their studies.

Flashcard machine can be used by students to create or use teacher created flashcards for studying. The user also has the opportunity to be able to search the Flashcard Library for already created flashcards. The site is mobile friendly making it beneficial as many students now have cell phones that are with them every moment of the day.

The website asks for donations, and as an added bonus donating users do not have ads that appear. Depending on the course if students search and study others Flashcards there is a chance that some content could be missed. In addition, although audio and images can be used, users cannot imbed videos. |
