- It sets the story up 

RISING ACTION

- The rising action is pieces of the story that lead up to the climax.

- They are significant events that occur before the big change.

- It is the "bulk" of the story

CONFLICT

- The conflict is a major element in narrative writing.

- It shows challenges within a story by adding obstacles in while a goal is trying to be achieved. 

FALLING ACTION

- The falling action is the period after the climax in a story.

- It is the events that build up to the ending.

- They wrap up loose ends and ease tension in the story.

RESOLUTION

- The resolution is the conclusion in the story.

- The plot is done and every final point is made.
