5 Stages.
Forming (Orientation Phase): Team meets, agrees on goals, assesses strengths and weaknesses, usually on best behavior.
Storming Phase: Ideas compete for dominance. Leads to interpersonal conflict, but is necessary for growth.
Norming Phase: Adjust behavior to learn to work together, agress on roles, gains trust and motivation increases as team gets comfortable with roles.
Performing Phase: Functions as a task-cohesive unit towards team success. Leadership handles decision making without supervision.
Adjourning Phase: End of year. Team disbands. |
