-taken iconic images from west –placed himself in the persons -copy of Manet’s Olympia -colors very different -texture of wedding Kimono -cat raising hand -wig on man –got the chocker, flower, slipper, bracelet -got hand over genitals –sure but not sure male -trying to get across to us, we’ve talked about stereotyping -we’ve uncovered idea men and women can be stereotyped -in the west –perceive other ethnicities in certain ways -undercut and making it conspicuous how west may perceive Asia -Asian male and female as feminine -both undercut certain sense of power -others have said this is also a reference to appeal to western culture for a figure to globalization of beauty –what everyone considers beautiful -is this supposed to be humorous |
