Definition
Captain James cook was an explorer, navigator, and cartographer from 1728 to 1779. He was important for exploring Hawaii during his three voyages. He was killed by the Hawaiian when he return to fix his boat.

2) What was the difference between the Magisterial Reformation and the Radical Reformation? Who represented these two movements?
Definition
The main difference is that the magisterial reformation supported ruling authorities. They were trying to inwardly to survive. There is no mission programs at all. A healthy church ne need to have inward and outward sending. Zwingli and Calvin represent the magisterial movement.


The radical believe in the free will mentality. Each individual live their conviction out. They also share the rejection of the Catholic church. They oppose the indulgences which was a way that bought people out of their sins so the Catholic can get fun to build nice cathedrals. Conrad Grebel, Felix Manz represent these movement

3) When and how did the Modern Missionary Movement begin?
Definition
Modern Missionary Movement begin in the 18th Century. They are influenced by Count Nikolas Ludwig von Zinzendorf (1700-1760) and the Moravians: The missionary must seek nothing for himself: no seat of honor, no report of fame. Like the cab-houses in London, he must wear blinkers and be blind to every danger and to every snare and conceit. He must be content to suffer, to die and be forgotten"

Definition
The "Great Century" happened in the 19th Century. The publication of William Carey's An Enquiry in 1792 started it, and the Edinburgh 1910 World Missionary Conference ended it. The event ended it because people don't meet together
