( GPRODS)

[image][image]

Definition

- Reservoir-MM or skin of sheep and goats

-Causes-Caseous Lymphadenitis

-Ulcerative Lymphaganitis in horses and mules

-Common name is "Dryland Distemper" and "Pigeon Fever"

-Usually infected through wound in sheep, horse, goat and mule

-lymphnodes get huge and have abscess that have onion ring apperance

-abscess ulcerate and cause pus that is caseous or cottage cheese like

-Treatment- is difficult-

-sheep and goats should be culled

- Horses drain abscess on lymp nodes

-prevent by bacterin, control flies, and keeping wounds clean
