-Selecting appropriate topic for audience and occasion, the speaker must speak with deference and think of the best way to speak to the audience and about the subject. -By presenting a balanced perspective, the speaker allows their audience to be fully aware of both sides of the topic. -By identifying the sources of the information, the speaker validates themselves and the information they are giving.
