I. Medical cost in the United States is very high. To keep someone ill alive takes around the clock care from hospital nurses and this could go on for years which turn out to be really expensive in the long run.
A. Most of the time Medicare doesn’t fully cover the expenses therefore the family would have to pay for the hospital expenses.
B. The family would have to spend thousands of dollars to keep their family member alive with little chances of getting better.
1. According to Wesley J. Smith the drugs required for an assisted suicide cost about $40 dollars and it takes about 40,000 to treat a patient properly if they don’t want the choice of assisted suicide.
2. If Medicare does cover it, all that money which is spent on someone with little chances of getting better could go to someone who needs it more.
(Now that I’ve shown you how a lot of money could be saved if euthanasia is legalize let’s move on how the legalization of euthanasia can relive ill people who are suffering from terrible diseases).
II. If someone close to you is suffering from a painful and incurable disease it affects that certain persona and family members.
A. It causes great stress to see someone who you love and is very close to you in great pain without been able to help or even someone who is in a vegetable state because of an accident.
B. A great example could be Terri Schiavo who spent 15 years in a vegetative state. She was brain dead and there was a great dispute between the husband and the family.
C. The husband wanted to remove the feeding tube but her family wanted otherwise.
1. Situations like in this case the family and loved ones suffer great emotional stress.
2. There was a huge Legal dispute which when out for 15 years.
3. 15 years later Terri died after her feeding tube was removed. |
