The listener, viewer, or reader of a text. Most texts are likely to hace multiple audiences. When Mrs. Peebles speaks we are the audience of students listening to her.

Definition

Acknowledge that an opposing argument may be true or reasonable. In a strong argument, this is usually accompanied by a refutation challenging the validity of opposing arguments.

"I know college is expensive, but it will be worth it in the long run."
