Alluvial fan- A fan-shaped deposit formed where a fast flowing stream flattens, slows, and then spreads.  The sediments are typically large, but can be at times small.

a river is a path with water and has no particular destination it goes to, but mostly it runs into an ocean and ends there. The sediments found in a river can be big or small because the force of the water pushes it.

a lake is a non moving body of water and is surrounded by land. The sediments in lakes are not really huge in a lake.

a landscape that is very dry, and hot throughout the year. There is almost no precipitation at all there. At nights it is cold out there. Most of the sediments are very small because it is sand and sand is very small.

Swamps-A wetland of large areas of land with shallow bodies of water. The sediments in swamps are typically small to medium. There is a very small amount of large sediments there.

Deltas-a landform that is created at the mouth of a river where that river runs into an ocean or large body of water.

Beaches-A landform that is alongside a body of water. The sediments in there are very small such as sand, gravel, shingle, pebbles, or cobblestones.

Lagoons- A shallow body of water that is cut away from a larger body of water be sand, mountains, rocks, etc. The sediments in lagoons are typically small-medium and aren’t really big.

Tidal flats- Flat areas that are covered by tidal waves (water). The sediments are really small like grain sizes.

Reefs- A feature that lies beneath water. The sediments in reefs are really big and there aren’t small rocks.

Continental shelf- a submerged plate boundary that goes steeper and steeper down. It is where all life and deposits of water is. The sediments are typically small and medium size. Once in a while you will see a big sediment.
Term

Definition
Continental slope and rise- the slope connects the shelf and abyssal plain. The slope is the submerging feature. The rise is the incline of the bottom of the ground to the slope. The sediments are not normally big there.

Abyssal plain- A flat area in the deepest part of the ocean basins. The sediments can be big and small down there because everything falls down to the plain.
