She was led to the altar and made the sign of the cross, she was then threatened and then tortured when she refused to turn against God. She was beheaded and burned and stabbed to death. On her feast day 2 lambs are blessed at her church in Rome, and then their wool is woven into bands of white wool called palliums, which the pope confers on archbishops as symbol of their jurisdiction. |

Parents married her to Valerian of Trastevere, but she vowed her virginity to God. She got her husband to be purified because an angel accompanied her. He was then baptized and after the ceremony he found her in prayer accompanied by an angel. The angel placed a crown on their heads and he wanted his brother to be baptized. After they were arrested and martyred for their faith. She buried them at her villa on the Apprian Way. After she was arrested for it and was ordered to sacrifice to false gods. She said no, and was martyered. They tried to suffocate her but that did not kill her, so she was beheaded. In 817, her grave was discovered and then in 1599 her body was found to be incorrupt. |
