US liberalism and the great deals along with Johnsons great society are degrees of social democracy which gives the state a stronger role in the daily lives of its citizens but doesn’t go as far toward socialism as promoting state owned industries.

Only take action where every nation has pre-agreed to act. If another nation forces them to do this, they will go in and act. The EU only acts where it can be more effective than the nation itself. The EU does not make all the nations conform under the same restriction. Every nation retains its shared values such as democracy, freedom, and justice and agree to protect and promote their heritage. The nations give up a little bit but not everything. Strives to minimize competition between the nations mainly economic competition. Parliament has around 785 members. The members are elected directly by the people and by how many people they have. The council- the executive function. Meets regularly and is comprised by the heads of states of member countries. All 28 members either send a prime minister and head of state. They decide and discuss issues and if it needs to be discussed they send it to parliament to debate on it. The commission- is the bureaucracy and a few years ago there were 20,000 and they make sure members are doing what they are supposed to do. Parliament- if parliament agrees on something being debated they propose a treaty and send it back to the council to vote on it. Court of justice- they adjudicate legal issues and dispute issues between the countries. |

Containment policy had been mainly in Europe but now because of the USSR Leap Frogging policy, containment had to be considered in any part of the world the Soviet Union saw an opportunity. Containment policy becomes somewhat obsolete. Instead of a USSR frontier along the iron curtain economic, military, and educational support could be sent to anywhere around the world Leap Frogging the borders separating socialism from capitalism.
