Direct contact of skin with irritant. More common form of this condition. Irritants = air, water, soap, solvents. Fair skinned women. Itching and pain. Can be acute or chronic. Repeated hand washing, cleaning etc. |

Direct contact with allergen causes immune reaction. 20% of this type of condition. Delayed sensitivity possible so it may take days to years to react. Memory T cells still exist even after condition is resolved. Poison ivy, nickel dyes, fragrance. Patch testing to determine allergen if needed. |
