Term
When a cell is undergoing mitosis, what happens to the DNA? |
Definition
It starts off as Chromatin, and gets packaged up into chromasomes. After the cell has split back into 2 it "unpackages" and becomes chromatin again |

Term
Definition
The longer part of a cell's life cycle, where it grows and matures. It's waiting for chemical cues to undergo mitosis. G1 S and G2 stages make up interphase |
Term
What happens in each phase of interphase |
Definition
G1 - growth 1 - maturing, adding cytoplasm, organellse. S - synthesizing DNA copy, getting ready for mitosis G2 - 2nd growth - build proteins, store up energy, prepare for cell division. Will lose access to "road maps" to proteins temporarily. |
