How were the Puritans similar to the Pilgrims?  How were they different?
Definition

The Puritans and the Pilgrims were both persecuted in England for religious reasons.  They both wanted to change the Church of England.  Also, they both decided to start their own colonies in North America so they could worship God as they saw fit.

The Puritans were different than the Pilgrims because they were very organized in their move to North America.  They sent a small group ahead to get the colony ready.  This way when the majority of the colonists arrived they were ready to succeed as a colony.
