March 1960, President Eisenhower gave the CiA permission to train Cuban exiles. He hoped it would trigger a mass uprising that would overthrow Casto (the supreme leader of Cuba). On April 17th, 1961 1300 to 1500 Cubans exiles supported by the US military landed on the isalnd southern coast to Bahia de Cochinos. It was unsuccessful. |

In 1963, Ernesto Miranda was arrested at his home in Phoenix Arizona on charges of kidnapping and rape. After two hours of questioning by police, he signed a confession and was later convinced, largely based on the confession.
