Unicellular Multicellular Cell Size |
|
Definition
Unicellular: bacteria or protists sponges are cells that congregate as colonies. Cell size is measured in micrometers. Eggs of vertebrates, and elongated nerve and muscle cells in large animals may be visible to the naked eye. Bacterial cells measure a few micrometers and most plant or animals cells are between 10-100 um. |

Cell Structure Plasma membrane Cytosol Ribosomes Genetic Material |
|
Definition
Plasma membrane (regulates the passage of materials in or out of the cell) Cytosol (watery medium in which dissolved solutes undergo essential reaction of metabolism) Ribosomes (large molecules involved in the synthesis of proteins) Genetic Material (deoxyribonucleic acid DNA) transmits hereditary material and controls cellular activities via protein synthesis. |
