Common name: Human pinworm

Live in the large intestine and appendix in humans. Gravid females migrate to the colon (usually at night) and lay eggs around anal opening. They may burst and eggs contaminate clothing and bedsheets. Often get into air and contaminate entire household.

Symptoms: Anal and vaginal itching.

Interesting: Can also rarely cause behavior problems and nightmares.
