He reopened the grand canal and expands roads, which helped to push contact and trade unintentionally, when he really wanted to use these methods to move government officials. Contact with the west brought new crops to China, and distilled alcohol to the west. Due to increased population and specialization, underground trade increases with a variety of goods. Jingdezhen moved Chinese porcelain industrializing its trade. China was the only place where porcelain of this quality could be made, so there was a demand for it.
