Why did the North win the Civil War?
Definition

1. southern generals were overly agressive. The South shouldn'e waited to get foreign recognition or a military stalemate

2. failure of policical leadership- Davis and his cabinet weren't good leaders. There was also a lack of a strong political party in the south when the Demo split

3. Southern emphasis on states rights- each state in wouth w/held roops and supplies bc of an individual state support feeling

4. Slavery- this is the reason Europe did not recog the S as an independent country. the system had already been abolished almost everwhere in teh modern world at the time.
