Definition
- Affects anterior band of MCL, overuse injury caused by excessive volumes of throwing and stress on the medial elbow, severe cases the growth plate may actually break away (avulsion fracture)
- Presentation: Tenerness at Medial Epicondyle, valgus test, swelling, loss of ROM, X-Ray may show widening of growth plate, POP
- Treatment: Rest, ice, strengthening of girdle, core muscles, ROM of shoulder girdle, rotation of trunk. Time is friendly to this type of injury. EDUCATION on pitch count
