Use figures with million or billion in all except casual references such as I'd like to make a billion dollars. Don't go beyond two decimal places. Decimals are preferred where they're practical, like 1.5 million not 1/2 million. Don't mix millions and billions in the same figure, like 2.6 million not 2 billion 6 million. Don't drop the word million or billion in the first figure of a range, like he's worth from $2 million to $4 million instead of from $2 to $4 million. Hyphens aren't used. |
