The British called for colonial representatives and they all meet in Albany. They develop plan (Benjamin Franklin) for an inter-colonial system for recruiting troops and collecting taxes. It never took effect, but set a precedent for later congresses. General James Wolfe surrendered Quebec, and William Pitt became the new prime minister. The British won, and the French left the continent. |
