-Puritan : 17th C. divine will, linear, monotheistic. -Patrichian: 18th C revolution, cycles in history, Heroic characters -Professionally trained: 19-20-21st C. urbanized, specialized, humanistic secular teleology. In all of these cases the United States is described as GOOD. Not much critical analysis until 1960's postmodernist movement. |
