Roughly 20 whites were killed and the group of slaves grew from 60-100 slaves. The slaves finally stopped (maybe to rest, maybe to wait on others). In the late afternoon, the are confronted with a group of armed whites. A small battle happens between the two and about 60 people are killed (less than half are whites). Some of the slaves escape but are later captured several weeks later. The rebellion is squashed. |
