Prometheus (foresight) and Epimetheus (hindsight) were Titans who allied with Zeus to overthrow the other Titans. As a reward, they were to give gifts to all the beings of the world. Prometheus gives humans fire, which angers the Gods, which causes Zeus to chain him to a rock where an eagle would eat out his liver every day. Epimetheus was given Pandora as his "punishment". |
