Definition

Body Composition

  • Refers to the absolute and relative amounts of the structural compoenents of the body (fat, fluid, muscle/tissue, and bone)
  • Improved by a combination of regular aerobic exercise, mild caloric restriction,resistance exercise and slow weight loss.

Weight Loss

  • estimated on the assumption that loss of 1 pd. requires 3,500kcal burned over a length of time.
  • Crash dieting and semi-starvation without exercise due to the related loss of muscle and lean tissue.
