D-Sub Digital

AES/EBU - Technically not an official spec. Pin order must

be double-checked for proper cabling.

8 channels balanced - every 3 pins carries 2 channels, just

like a regular AES xlr cable.

8 channels in AND out possible on 1 Dsub connector,

although sometimes only one way is given.

TDIF (Tascam devices only mostly) - 8 channels

unbalanced - 8 out pins/8 in pins/8 ground

Optical Digital

Optical SPDIF - Still only 2 channels

ADAT - Alesis protocol for 8 channels of audio (Toslink

only)
