- SOB/dyspnea; may cause bronchospam in asthma patients (BHO)
- Chest pressue/ palpations; may be acute in some patients for brief period.
- Mild hypotension(decreases peripheral vascular resistance)
- Dizzy/lightheadedness/ headache
- Nausea
- Transient arrhythmias(bradycardia, AV blocks, Ventricular ectopy) these are generally not treated and are quickly self-limiting.

Concentration: 6mg/ 2ml
- DRUG IS METABOLIZED VERY QUICKLY, USE LARGE BORE iv IN LARGE PROXIMAL LARGE VEIN TO ASSIST ADMINISTRATION OF RAPID IV PUSH
- Use 20-ml syringe for NS flush immediately following (IV wide open is NOT effectice).
- Obtain ECG documentation before, during, and after giving adenosine.
- Transient arrhythnias (PVC's, PAC's, sinus bradycardia, AV block, sinus tach and possibly asystole) may be expected after each use.
- Do not give third dose if patient has pause followed by return to SVT. In this case, the patient is probably in A-Fib which will not be converted with Adenosine.
- Adenosine only works for SVT: will not convert A-FIB or A- Flutter
