1) Marines may submit request to their unit for TAD to an RS or RSS for up to 30 days 2) Recruiters should write to Marines who they enlisted encouraging them to put in for PTAD. 3) SNCOIC’s w/ assistance from RS SgtMaj should initiate request for Marines at least 90 days prior to desired TAD start date. a) Annual leave in conjunction with PTAD is authorized b) Marines on annual leave may request PTAD from their parent unit through the RS. c) Marines executing PCS orders are not eligible to participate in PTAD. d) Not to be used in place of emergency leave or TAD in connection with humanitarian transfer/discharge 4) NCOIC’s and recruiters will receive notification of PRASP eligible Marines. a) After Recruit Training = 14 days b) After MCT = 10 – 30 days c) After entry level school before first command = 10 – 30 days |

Extension of leave/ special liberty - leave up to 5 days, special liberty for 72 – 96 hours Meritorious promotion from PVT – PFC for one or more qualified applicants, PFC – LCPL for two or more qualified applicants while on PRASP. PVT – PFC or PFC – LCPL for two or more qualified applicants while on PTAD. All promotions are at RSCO discretion. LCPL’s and CPL’s receive 20 pts toward cutting score for each individual referral who enlists. |

How does one complete the MCRD card? |

Definition
1) Name, number, ship date on front of card 2) Basic evaluation of the Marine’s future potential as a CR. 3) Estimated grad date 4) Write three letters while in recruit training a) 1st = 5 days after shipping b) 2nd = between 4th and 6th week c) 3rd = between 9th and 10th week 5) Action date to ensure contact is maintained with parents and call on the Marine’s day of return 6) Action date remaining actions (call on leave, press release, visit to HS/CC, AC, etc) on front of card for assistance in CRP. 7) Fill out results blocks on the front 8) Fill out results block on the back 9) Maintain card in the Working File by action date until the Marine departs for 1st duty station, and then transfer to the Command Recruiting File. 10) Destroy the MCRD Card three months after the Marine’s EAS. |
