How does a Bill become a Law? |
|
Definition
1. Someone proposes the bill to Senate or House of Rep. 2. Someone in House of Rep or Senate introduces the bill to the floor. 3.The bill is then moved to a commitee. They can either pass it or kill it. 4. If passed the place of origination must vote for it by a 2/3. Otherwise the bill is killed. 5. Then the whole process repeats in either the Senate or House of Rep. 6. If passed the differences are evened out and sent to the President. 7. The president can either sign the bill or veto it. 8. If vetoed the Senate and House of Rep can override it by a 2/3 vote against. |
